Today is National Mammography Day… An important day for individuals and families everywhere because annual mammograms are key to early detection. Ac cording to the National Cancer Institute, when breast cancer is detected early and is in the localized stage, the 5-year relative survival rate is 99%. Mammograms matter. Early detection methods also include breast self-awareness and getting regular clinical breast exams. If you haven’t scheduled your annual mammogram yet, today is the perfect day to do so.
